Those who have attended a performance or workshop by “Orwell 1984 plus40 Project” have been excited by the incredible energy and inspiration that happens when world class artists join together with urban youth to celebrate new original music based on a classic novel.

This project includes a live performance series, and in-studio writing and recording collaborations. We encourage people to explore their understanding of the novel by looking at modern themes. Through storytelling and new original music inspired by the modern issues and ideas prompted by exploring Orwell’s 1984, this project brings light to todays issues through the lens of one of the greatest novels.
