Rob started playing the guitar in 4th grade. Throughout his early years in rural Wisconsin he was always playing guitar and drawing, and starting to write his first songs. After playing in a band with drummer Clyde Stubblefield (James Brown)while also attending UW-Madison (Rob is a cartographer), he moved to Austin, Texas, in 1989 with his newest band at that time,"500". This pop trio took the scene by storm and was named Austin's "Best New Band of 1990" by the Austin Chronicle. Although Rob formed several other bands during the next few years, he mostly spent time 4track recording many many pieces of sound. These were very fruitful years of writing, and the beginning of an interest in recording music that has evolved through the years to an obsession with producing and recording records with many artists. In 1995, Rob moved to New Orleans. After a stint of playing slide guitar with New Orleans legend Lee Allen, Rob met and began playing and recording with Bart Ramsey and Neti Vaan. He also recorded a CD with Swiss/Australian/Scot group "B-Goes" before touring Europe and the UK with both groups for the next two years.
Rob travelled to Australia to produce "Nick Hanlon and the Goddesses". He has also performed club tours of Australia for the last two years. In 2004 Rob has been the operator of his GREEN ROOM STUDIO in Austin Texas. He has scored over a dozen movies, and composed the script for the musical "All U Can Eat" for HBO Productions. One of his recordings showed up in Kevin Spacey's "The Life Of David Gale"(dir: Alan Parker) which incidently had a crappy ending (editor's note).
In December 2004 Rob releases "Second Whirled", his next production. He is in the process of forming a 15 piece "Earchostra" with strings, brass, and choir,, which will be performing the new music.
